According to,news agency of Iran’s Research Institute for Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT) and based on Hossein Tofighian mentioned: “Investigating the Archaeology of Maritime Landscapes of Gilan Province is “a new chapter for Iranian archaeological studies“. He also said :”Our Research area was from “Astara” county to “Rudsar” county in Gilan province, we were surveying about local maritime culture, navigation and Boatbuilding in rivers, Lagoon and coastlines of Caspian Sea.” He also noted: “in Estil Lagoon in Astra county we observed a kind of Simple Watercraft which is more look like to a Logboat.
